343 Labs AI Music Studio is a hybrid web and desktop application designed to bridge the gap between AI generation and professional music production. It uses the ElevenLabs API to generate individual instrument tracks (like kicks, basslines, and melodies) which users can refine and then drag directly into software like Ableton Live or Logic Pro using a custom Electron desktop wrapper.

1. The Challenge

Generative AI has revolutionized audio creation, but for professional music producers, the workflow remained broken. Web-based AI tools operate in a "silo"—users must generate audio, download it to a hard drive, locate the file, and then manually import it into their Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) like Ableton Live or Logic Pro. This friction breaks creative flow and relegates AI tools to "toys" rather than serious studio instruments.

2. The Solution

We built TunePal, a hybrid AI music workstation that functions as a "Zero-Friction" bridge. It is not just a generator; it is a full-featured loop creation studio that integrates natively with the user's operating system to allow direct interaction with professional software.

3. Key Innovation: Native DAW Integration

The core technical breakthrough was solving the browser security model that prevents web apps from interacting with local file paths.

• The Architecture: We wrapped the web application in Electron, creating a desktop environment that has privileged access to the file system.

• The Mechanism: When a user generates a stem (e.g., a Kick Drum), the app writes the PCM audio data to a temporary file on the disk in the background.

• The Result: Users can click the generated waveform and drag it directly from the app window onto a track in Ableton Live, Logic Pro, or FL Studio. The DAW recognizes it as a standard file transfer, bypassing the need for manual downloads entirely.

4. Core Features

• Genre-Specific AI Generation: A specialized engine for Techno (with House and Hip-Hop planned) that generates 6 distinct stem types: Kick, Bass, Melody, Pad, Percussion, and FX.

• Integrated Mixer: A browser-based audio workstation featuring volume faders, 3-band EQ, and resonant filters for each stem, allowing users to "mix" their AI generation before exporting.

• Session Management: A robust save system using Supabase (PostgreSQL) that persists mixer states, stem history, and user "Likes," allowing producers to return to previous ideas instantly.

• Audio Intelligence: Automatic BPM detection and "Loop Fix" algorithms to ensure generated audio loops perfectly on the grid.

5. Technical Implementation Details

• Frontend: Built with Vanilla JavaScript to ensure maximum performance and zero framework overhead, essential for handling real-time audio visualization on the canvas.

• Backend: Supabase handles authentication and storage, with Edge Functions proxying requests to the ElevenLabs Music API to secure API keys.

• Audio Engine: The Web Audio API manages the immediate playback and effects processing (EQ/Filters) within the app, providing a "what you hear is what you get" preview before export.
